Special Educational Needs

Our Lady's Catholic Primary School is an inclusive school where we believe that each teacher is responsible for all of the children in their class. In order to meet the needs of all our pupils, the staff work in partnership with parents and carers to endeavour to remove barriers to learning.

We use a variety of teaching strategies to maximise children’s ability to access the curriculum, develop resources to support work in the classroom and run intervention sessions.  Where necessary, we seek advice from outside agencies.

The child’s view is also sought so that we can limit any anxieties and ensure that all barriers to learning are removed.  Parental input is also highly valued; working in a close partnership between child, parent and school ensures the best outcomes for the child during their time at Our Lady's.

Please get in touch with your child’s teacher if you are concerned in any way about their progress or development.  Where appropriate, we can provide additional classroom support, gain advice from a specialist teacher or consult with an educational psychologist as part of our approach to SEND support.

What to do if you think your child has SEND

Local Offer

We are a school in the Warwickshire Local Authority who are responsible for a range of services and support available across education, health and social care for families with children and young people aged 0 to 25, who have special educational needs and/or disabilities. These combined services come together to form Warwickshire’s SEND local offer. Here you can find information about everything SEND in the local area, from assessments, health, transport and school admissions, including how you can be supported as a family.
